Jon Brewster from HP Inc. Keynotes CDADIC 2017 Winter Meeting

Jon Brewster Delivers Inspiring Keynote at the CDADIC Winter 2017 Meeting

Jon Brewster, HP Fellow and a Chief Technologist for HP Inc., kicked off the CDADIC Winter 2017 IAB meeting with a spirited keynote presentation on Megatrends Influencing HP Research and Product Development Strategies.  As he presented the megatrends he highlighted technology and product examples needed to meet emerging customer trends and how they affect the short and long term future for Analog and Mixed Signal research.  He described how Changing Demographics with the workforce, governments, healthcare and other factors influence HP’s research with smart sensors that need to be created by the analog and mixed signal research.  He described how Hyper Globalization is giving rise to start-ups across the world, issues with cyber security and emerging economic powerhouses that are disrupting the status quo.  He described how Accelerated Innovation is changing the shape of technology and the way humans deal with it’s many facets.  His engaging and entertaining style was appreciated and created opportunities for interesting discussions among participants throughout the rest of the meeting.

During the meeting several IAB Members gave company updates to provide insights for future research that will be of interest as the CDADIC faculty consider their project proposals for the July meeting.  We were also fortunate to have three guest companies participate in the meeting with their potential interest in joining CDADIC.

The main purpose for the meeting was to hear the progress on our currently funded projects through formal presentations, poster sessions and the Rapid Fire Minutes.  And of course there was ample time to network between CDADIC Faculty and the Graduate Students who are likely to be future employees of IAB Member companies.
